    Crested Butte Lodging

Crested Butte in Colorado is a great little ski town. Though it is also a great place in the summer as well. Crested Butte is different from a lot of the other resort towns in Colorado. It is off of the beaten track. It is harder to get to because it is not just right off of I-70 which is the main highway through Colorado. However, because of its location, it is more pristine and not as well known. It is much like a hidden gem in the Rocky mountains.

The downtown area is still quaint and very friendly. Sadly though a lot of the Crested Butte lodging has turned very commercial. There are a lot of highrise condominiums near the base of the mountain and the ski slopes. A nice alternative is the The Nordic Inn. It is a Scandinavian style bed and breakfast inn. The views from the rooms are great and the parking is right by the building.

There are so many choices for spa treatments in Crested Butte. The Purple Mountain Lodge sticks in my mind because I really like the name. I was surprised though at how many choices there are when looking at spas in Crested Butte. The town itself is not very large, but the valley is actually quite wide which lends itself to more space for building.
